On February 3, 1959, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper departed the Mason City Municipal Airport on a flight to Fargo, ND. Their plane crashed in a field in rural Clear Lake. In this video I travel from the airport to the memorial at the crash site. I then departed the crash site and traveled to the Surf Ballroom where they played their last concert.
